The Visit Worcestershire Team heralded their inaugural Worcestershire Tourism Awards evening at the impressive Stanbrook Abbey Hotel situated between Worcester and Malvern. During the latter part of 2021 the Visit Worcestershire team and a panel of tourism experts have been judging a wide range of attractions, accommodation offerings and dining options across the whole of the county. The 250 guests attending the Awards evening represented the diverse array of businesses in Worcestershire involved in tourism from Pubs to Hotels, from Restaurants to B&B’s, from Adventure Parks to Steam Railways.

In all, thirteen awards were presented during the evening including Hotel of the Year, Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year and Large Visitor Attraction of the Year. The Host for the evening was British comedian Dominic Holland who is an award-winning professional comedian, awards and conference host, author of seven books and countless TV and Radio appearances and father to Tom Holland the new Marvel film star. Many well-known Worcestershire business played their part by sponsoring this prestigious event, they include Worcester Six, mfg Solicitors, Destination Core, Malvern Gin, F8 and Mercian Events Ltd, the main sponsors were software company Love to Visit. Worcestershire County Council together with Worcestershire Growth Hub, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and the Business Energy Efficiency Programme all provided much need support for the occasion.
Mercian Events provided all technical, lighting, stage set and audio elements for the Awards evening.
