Case Study:
Lea Castle Farm Quarry Public Inquiry

Event: Public Enquiry – Lea Castle Kidderminster
Audience:
7 day event with interested parties attending
Venue:
Hogarth’s Stone Manor Hotel Kidderminster

At the end of January 2023, we were approached by staff at Worcestershire County Council to provide a quotation to cover all the AV/TV/Audio and part Hybrid requirements for an important public inquiry into a new proposed quarry development at Lea Castle Kidderminster. This was to be held early March’23 at Hogarth’s Stone Manor Hotel. Throughout the seven days of the inquiry overflow facilities were to be provided in an adjacent room to cater for the large numbers of interested parties attending the inquiry. On the first day of the Inquiry those that were unable to attend in person and wishing to make their views known were able to fully participate using the Hybrid link we set up.

The Hybrid link was via an email invitation sent by the organisers. This inquiry was a fairly complex set up that required considerable pre-event consultation. During the inquiry we noticed a large number of attendees congregating by the catering facilities unable to view the proceedings whilst waiting to be served so we provide an additional large monitor connected to the network via a wireless video and audio extender feed. We had technical expertise on site for the duration who are now very well briefed on the proceedings of a Public Inquiry.

Key Elements:

  • Extensive video/audio facilities on site
  • Live video on site and full recording of proceedings
  • Live video/audio feed to an overflow room
  • Online witness participation
  • Installation and on-site technical support
  • Pre-event planning.
